Evidence Still Being Analyzed In Case Against Ben Walden

A former police officer is still waiting for evidence to be examined before the sexual assault case against him goes forward. Former Hopkinsville and Oak Grove Officer, Ben Walden appeared in Christian Circuit Court Wednesday afternoon on charges of 1st Degree Sodomy, 1st Degree Rape, and 4th Degree Assault, as well as others. His attorney, Rick Boling says there was a miscommunication with the lab.



Judge Andrew Self asked if the information would be ready by the next hearing February 28 and Boling and Special Prosecutor Ralph Vick agreed it should be completed. A trial is set for the week of March 26th.

Walden is accused of paying a female victim $200 for sex before telling her he was a police officer, putting his gun on the nightstand, putting a pillow over her face, and raping and sodomizing her. He faces additional charges of Permitting Prostitution, 1st Degree Official Misconduct, 3rd Degree Terroristic Threatening, Intimidating a Participant in a Legal Process, Retaliating Against a Participant in a Legal Process, and Tampering with a Witness.
