Final Christian County Candidates To File

An incumbent, two previous candidates, and a newcomer were the last to file during the partisan election period in Christian County. County Surveyor Bill Chaudoin is seeking re-election. He will have no opposition.

An eighth candidate for County Sheriff filed as well. Jerry Pepper turned in his paperwork to seek election as the Democratic choice for the top law enforcement job. Pepper has previously made runs for the position. He is a retired Kentucky State Police detective, has his own private detective agency, and has taught law enforcement for 13 years. He says Christian County deserves a professional Sheriff's Office based on principles of integrity, honesty, and commitment.

A third candidate filed for Hopkinsville Mayor. Walter Shamble turned in his paperwork to run as the Independent candidate for the office. He has run numerous times for the office. The most recent run was in 2014.

Also filing Tuesday morning was Jason Bell. Bell will be running as a Republican candidate for Hopkinsville City Council Ward 11. Bell is the co-owner of The Car Spa on North Main Street. He will face Democratic Incumbent Wesley Grimes in the November General Election.
