Juvenile Charged With Terroristic Threatening In Trigg Co

For the second time in three days, a Trigg County student has been taken into custody and charged with making a threat toward the school system. Cadiz Police Chief Chad Grace said his department received information Monday morning from the school system that a student had made a threat toward the school on a bus Thursday.

He said audio and video of the threat was recorded on the bus video system.

The police chief declined to give the age of the student and said the threat was uncovered when school officials were investigating a separate incident on the bus.

Chief Grace would not give any specifics about the wording or intent of the threat, but did say it did not target a specific individual.

The juvenile is the second in three days to be charged for making a threat toward the school. Unlike Saturday’s case investigated by the Trigg County Sheriff’s Department, the Thursday threat was not reported by students who heard it. Chief Grace encourages parents to talk to their children and explain why reporting these threats are vital for school safety.

Chief Grace said his department began investigating the threat shortly after 10 Monday morning. The juvenile will be charged with Second Degree Terroristic Threatening and was lodged in the McCracken County Juvenile Detention Center.
