State officials say the Beaver Dam Rest Area slated to open Friday has been delayed. Kentucky Finance and Administration Cabinet Secretary William Landrum III says the delay is due to unforeseen construction issues that are taking longer to address than anticipated.
A grand opening date has not bee determined but is expected in late February or early March.
Martin and Bayley, Inc., based in Carmi, Illinois, will operate the convenience rest area under the HUCK's brand name. They have a 20-year contract to renovate, reconstruct, operate and maintain general merchandise and fuel service operations.
