A well-known area musician is throwing his name in the political ring. Princeton Native, Alonzo Pennington announced in Hopkinsville Thursday at a Democratic Meet the Candidates forum that he will be running for 1st District Congressman.
He says he wants to advocate for the families and workers of western Kentucky.
Pennington adds he has been learning about policy and how government works. He thinks his experiences around the area have prepared him for office.
He plans to file Friday or Monday. This will mean a May Democratic Primary between him and Paul Walker. The winner will face incumbent James Comer in the November General Election.
