Maddux Stepping Down As United Way President

The President of the United Way of the Pennyrile is resigning. Board Chair Holly Boggess says Jennifer Maddux sent her a letter announcing her plans to leave the position after "much thought and careful consideration." Maddux has been with the United Way for six and half years and has overseen seven campaigns raising nearly $5.5 million.

Boggess says the board will officially accept the resignation at a meeting February 12th. She anticipates the search for a successor will begin immediately so a new President can be on hand for the 2018 Annual Campaign kickoff.

Maddux noted in her letter that she will "look back on my time here with nothing but fond memories and much gratitude." Her immediate plans include spending additional time with her family, although she says she does foresee re-entering the workforce at some point.

Boggess says Maddux has been an absolute pleasure to work with in her capacity as President and the Board is extremely proud of the leadership, energy, time and many successes she has brought to the organization. Boggess adds Maddux will be remaining in the community and will be available to guide the board and the next President through a smooth transition.
