Man Who Robbed Elderly Woman In Clarksville Arrested

A man wanted in connection to robbing an 81-year old Clarksville woman last month was arrested Monday morning near Chattanooga. Clarksville Police Public Information Officer Jim Knoll says 52-year old Timothy Howell was identified as the man who robbed the elderly woman then used her credit card on December 16 at Rivergate Mall. Police were able to get photos of the suspect from a store. He adds they identified him in connection to the Clarksville robbery and secured a robbery warrant.

Knoll indicates Howell was already in custody after he was arrested for committing a robbery at Almaville Market near Smyrna around 7:45 the night of January 19. He was apprehended after a pursuit on the morning of January 22 in Marion County. Another suspect involved in the Almaville Robbery, Dewayne Halfacre is still at large and Knoll says authorities are still looking for him. According to the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office, Howell and Halfacre are facing numerous charges there, including theft of property, false imprisonment, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, two counts of agravaed assault and aggravated robbery, and possession of a weapon during a dangerous felony.

Police are continuing to investigate and Knoll says more charges are possible.
