Ice And Snow Storm Creates Hazardous Driving

The mixed bag of wintry precipitation is causing hazardous road conditions. Kentucky Transportation Cabinet spokesman Keith Todd says traffic is moving pretty good. He says they have put up messages on their boards along Interstate 24 advising motorists to slow down.

He says they had crews in at midnight and started salting during the transition over to ice to help keep it slushy so motorists could at least get some traction. However, with the falling temperatures, Friday night could be an issue.

Todd says motorists need to follow the three basic rules when driving on snow and ice and that is to slow down, slow down and slow down.
