The United Way continues to shine light into the communities of the Pennyrile, with the help of giving residents. This year's campaign chair, Leslie Carroll announced the total at the Let Your Light Shine Campaign dinner Thursday night.
Executive Director, Jennifer Maddux presented this year's J. William Flowers Award to Wayne Hunt.
Hunt says he has a secret to success.
Several awards were also given to supporting businesses, which Carroll says are the brightest lights.
The Small Firm Award went to Superlawn and Garden. Amfine Chemicals received the Medium Fire Award. The Large Firm Award was given to H and R Agri-Power. Maddux presented the Overall People Helping People Award to Heritage Bank.
The Bank had 100 percent participation for the first time. They were joined by 15 other companies in that respect.
