Woman Hurt In Sunday Hawthorne Drive Crash

A Hopkinsville woman was injured when police say her vehicle crashed into her shed, a neighbor's house and a fence on Hawthorne Drive Sunday afternoon. Hopkinsville Police report the accident occurred around 1:40pm in the 700 block when 69-year old Norma Lewis-Walker stated she was backing out of her driveway when the gas pedal got stuck and sent her flying backwards into her shed. Walker said she then put the pickup truck in drive to pull forward and the vehicle went flying forward into her neighbor's fence and tree.

Police say Walker was transported by ambulance to Jennie Stuart Medical Center after she complained that her chest hurt due to the deployment of the airbags. Walker reportedly could not provide proof of insurance and was cited by police.
