EXTENDED-School Supply Donations

Pennyrile Allied Community Services, Inc.  (PACS) Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) volunteers will be conducting a school supply donation drive for the Lighthouse Family Resource Center that will benefit children in both Trigg County Primary and Intermediate Schools.  The Lighthouse FRC strives to remove any barriers (physical, emotional, mental, social, etc) that may interfere with a child’s learning or his/her success in school so that an environment is created that allows children and families to feel empowered and successful.
 
Many times the physical barriers interfering with student learning involve the lack of school supplies, nutritious food, and clothing or shoes.  In the last several years, RSVP volunteers have worked to collect needed items for the Lighthouse FRC, so that the FRC can help Trigg County students and families in need.  The Family Resource Center is always there to help students who are lacking school supplies, whether they are attending school virtually or in person.      
 
This year, due to Covid-19 concerns, RSVP volunteers will not be manning tables at collection sites as they have in the past.  However, school supply donations can be made by simply dropping them off at the front of the Trigg County Senior Center.  Donors can simply drive thru the (front) circle entrance of the senior center, located at 127 Joy Lane in Cadiz, to make their donations in the brightly colored yellow collection box between the hours of 8am-4pm, from September 8th-11^th.  Volunteers will collect the donations daily and ensure delivery of all donations to the Lighthouse Family Resource Center.
 
PACS-RSVP volunteers wish to thank Cadiz-Trigg County in advance for their support of the Lighthouse Family Resource Center in this school supply drive.  Even Covid-19 won’t stop the members of our community from giving generously, from the heart, to assist local children and families in need.
