Cora Agnes Pendleton Thompson, 93, Hopkinsville, died in Nashville on Friday, December 13, 2024.
Cora, the daughter of the late Lawrence S. Pendleton, Sr., and Geneva Dunkerson Pendleton, was born in Christian County on February 7, 1931.
Cora was a member of Moore’s Baptist Church where she was the oldest member over 75 years, past member of the Women’s Choir, and Honorary member of the Mother’s Board. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking and baking, especially during Christmas making cookies was one of her favorite things to do. She enjoyed traveling and meeting people, spending time with her family, being a mother and grandmother
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Warner B. Thompson, Sr.; son Warner B. Thompson, Jr.; daughter, Alfreda G. Thompson.
Survivors include her son, Mark (Priscilla) Thompson; sisters Rowena Pendleton and Inez (Doc Christian) Cox; brother Otis M. Pendleton; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; caregivers Katina Knight and Danielle Bronaugh; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Gamble Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Services will be on Monday, December 23, 2024, at 11:30 am at Moore’s Baptist Church.
Burial will follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West.
Visitation will begin Monday morning at 10:00 at the church.
