Post Thanksgiving, gas prices in west central Kentucky are three cents higher this week than last — up to $2.69 a gallon.
That’s according to the weekly AAA East Central Gas Price Report, which noted the price was roughly $2.66 a gallon last week, and $2.87 a gallon this time last year.
Right now, it’s around:
+ $2.81 in Trigg County;
+ $2.67 in Christian County;
+ $2.59 in Todd County;
+ $2.56 in Hopkins County;
+ $2.78 in Caldwell County;
+ $2.79 in Lyon County;
+ $2.66 in Marshall County;
+ And $2.58 in Calloway County.
Average prices of unleaded self-serve gasoline in the Commonwealth are $2.69 in Bowling Green, $2.67 in Elizabethtown, $2.91 in Louisville, $2.53 in Owensboro and $2.66 in Paducah.
The national average for a gallon of gasoline fell a penny over the heavily-Traveled during Thanksgiving, to $3.04, which is the lowest they have been this time of year since 2020 — when the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted gasoline demands.
More than half of the country, especially east of the Mississippi, have petroleum well below $3 a gallon, and gas is seven cents lower than it was a month ago, and 19 cents lower than it was a year ago.
