Lyon County emergency officials are reporting a weather-related crash on Interstate 24 near the Kuttawa-Eddyville resulted in two fatalities.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says Lyon County officials reponded to the multi-vehicle crash that occurred in the eastbound lanes between the 40 and 41 mile markers, east of the Kuttawa-Eddyville exit. After arriving on the scene Lyon County Emergency Management reported two fatalities as the result of the crash.
All eastbound lanes remained closed for several hours. Traffic was rerouted along US 62 through Eddyville, with drivers asked to avoid the area as crews worked to clear the scene.
No other details have been released concerning the fatal crash.
