Western Kentucky could receive some snow during the day, with the best chance for the southern Pennyrile in the afternoon.
Paducah National Weather Service forecaster Ryan Presley says a weak disturbance will bring light snow showers to the region today. Total snow accumulation of a trace up to about a half inch is forecast across the region, mainly impacting portions of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, and western Kentucky. The National Weather Service says the best chance for snow in the Hopkinsville area is from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m.
While the totals are expected to be light, very cold ground conditions will allow the snow to stick immediately. So, some slick spots may develop, especially on untreated and elevated surfaces.
