James “Jimmy” Carter Mumford, 75, Hopkinsville, passed away on Friday, November 15, 2024, in Christian, Co. KY.
James, the son of the late Leslie and Charlene Mumford, was born on November 19, 1948, in Hopkinsville, KY.
James was a member of the Original Church of God where he was a part of the Brotherhood. He was employed in the Culinary department at Applebee’s and Western State Hospital. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, cooking and decorating. He was a part of the U.S. Air Force and then retired from the U.S. Marines.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 7 brothers and 3 sisters.
Survivors include his sisters, Katheryn Mumford and Bettie (Eddie) Mumford; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held Monday, November 25th, at 11:00 AM, at Gamble Funeral Home. Visitation will begin that morning at 10:00.
