Authorities have charged a man in connection to a shooting that took the life of a Hopkinsville man on North Virginia Street in Hopkinsville Friday night.
Hopkinsville Police say 27-year-old Jacorey Major was shot twice in front of Discount Liquors just before midnight. Shell casings were located in the area, and the building was also hit several times.
Major was taken by Hopkinsville EMS to Jennie Stuart Health for injuries to his arm and abdomen but later died.
Police asked for help the next day, locating 27-year-old Tavarious Mathews in connection to the shooting. Mathews was located Wednesday afternoon and arrested on charges of murder and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
Police say they are continuing to investigate but believe the shots may have come from a vehicle.
