Even as the deadline to request an absentee mail-in ballot has passed, Trigg County Clerk Carmen Finley is sharing election details to ensure a strong turnout at the ballot box.

Finley visited the Cadiz Rotary Club Tuesday afternoon and said over 350 ballots had already been sent out.

Early voting will begin Thursday, October 31st, and continue Friday, November 1st, and Saturday, November 2nd, at the Trigg County EOC Center at 39 Jefferson Street. It will take place from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM each day.

She added that voting on Election Day on Tuesday, November 5th, will take place from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The voting sites will include Cerulean Baptist Church, the East Golden Pond Fire Department, the Trigg County EOC Center, the South Road Fire Department, The Way Christian Youth Center, the Trigg County Recreation Complex, and the Trigg-Lyon Volunteer Fire Department.

Finley encouraged every Trigg County voter to do their homework on the issues on this year’s ballot.

In addition to the two state constitutional amendment questions, voters will select their choices for President, 1st Congressional District U.S. Representative, 1st Senatorial District State Senator, 5th or 8th District State Representative, 56th Judicial Circuit Commonwealth’s Attorney, and 1st Appellate District—2nd Division Judge of the Court of Appeals.

Local races include 1st or 7th District Constable; 2nd, 4th, or 5th District Trigg County Board of Education members; and Cadiz City Council members – which features a change.

Finley said if you can not make early or Election Day voting, you may qualify for voting in her office before 6:00 PM November 5th.

She hopes for a strong turnout for this election cycle, citing a 68-percent prediction of Trigg County’s 12,000 registered voters.
