This year, the tradition of cooking the giant ham and biscuit at the Trigg Country Ham Festival Saturday morning will continue, with a new organization benefiting from its sale.
The Little River Baptist Association is leading the project, with the proceeds set to be given to The Way Christian Youth Center. Director of Missions Bobby Sellars tells Your News Edge that they are assuming responsibility for the project from the Helping Hands of Trigg County.
He adds special thank-yous to the folks stepping up to help with the project.
The Way Christian Youth Center’s Carl Heckman says that funds will go toward paying for the newest building on their campus.
Sellars and Heckman thank sponsors Bank of Cadiz, Broadbent B&B Foods, Cayce Mill Supply, the City of Cadiz, Goodwin Funeral Home, Hancock’s Neighborhood Market, Hopkinsville Milling, Pennyrile Electric, Trigg County Public Schools, and WKDZ.Sellars adds that volunteers are still needed to help with the effort, especially regarding cleanup. The biscuit will be cooked Saturday morning starting around 7:30, and are expected to serve it around 11:00.
