Hopkinsville Community College – Development Officer III

The primary purpose of the Development Officer III is to develop giving opportunities and execute the fundraising strategy in support of development goals for Hopkinsville Community College.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
1. Design, prepare, and implement special fundraising/cultivation events for Hopkinsville Community College Advancement Department and Hopkinsville Community College Foundation alongside Advancement/Marketing staff.
2. Generate gifts through person-to-person visits, group presentations, phone calls, direct mail and publications, electronic resources, special events, and other special campaigns.
3. Secure special event sponsorships from individuals and businesses.
4. Responsible for donor relations and stewardship, including targeted donor stewardship communications and recognition events.
5. Implement an alumni relations program for friend-raising and fundraising.
6. Collaborate with Vice President for Marketing & Advancement to create and implement a fundraising plan for development initiatives.
7. Collaborate with Development Officer II to develop a system for entering, tracking, and managing event participants in Raiser’s Edge or Almabase CRM systems. Work closely with Development Officer II to ensure timeliness of gift recording for Foundation and College gifts.
8. Run and interpret reports to assess progress toward goals using Raiser’s Edge or Almabase CRM systems.
9. Collaborate with Marketing to develop alumni and donor stories.
10. Assist with social media management on HCC’s LinkedIn and the HCC Foundation’s Facebook pages alongside Marketing.
11. Work closely with HCC Foundation Board of Directors.
12. Collaborate with KCTCS and sister colleges’ advancement departments.
13. Other duties as assigned by Vice President for Marketing and Advancement.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
1. Bachelor degree and 4 years of related work experience, or equivalent.
2. Demonstrated ability to think strategically and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
3. High-energy, enthusiastic, and goal-oriented professional.
4. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with the public, including donors, prospective donors, and community-based organizations.
5. Must be a self-motivator, who can take initiative, meet deadlines and accomplish tasks in a fast-paced environment.
6. Friendly, energetic and outgoing personality with a positive, problem-solving attitude.
7. Organized and efficient in coordinating a variety of activities; excellent time management skills.
8. Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills.
9. Demonstrated attention to detail.
10. Professional integrity, including a thorough understanding of confidentiality.
11. Familiarity with fundraising software and data analytics tools.

KY law requires state and national pre-employment background checks as a condition of employment.
