The Cadiz-Trigg County Tourist and Convention Commission has announced the appointment of Beth Sumner as its next executive director.
The announcement was made through a press release on Wednesday morning. Deepak Patel, the commission’s chairman, said Sumner’s vision and leadership will help drive efforts to attract visitors to Trigg County and enhance the tourist experience. Patel also said her passion for the tourism industry makes her a perfect fit to lead the efforts to showcase what Trigg County has to offer.
Sumner is a Trigg County native who rose through the ranks in the Trigg County School System from teacher to assistant principal before retiring as assistant superintendent. She has most recently served as membership chairman of the Cadiz-Trigg County Chamber of Commerce.
Sumner steps into the role created with the recent retirement of Bill Stevens and will officially begin her new duties with the Tourism Commission on September 3.
