Michael McBride Exhibit Coming To Janice Mason Art Museum

The work of Nashville artist Michael McBride will be on display beginning July 12th at the Janice Mason Art Museum in Cadiz.

McBride, who is an art instructor at Tennessee State University, is well-known for his work as a mural artist as a part of the Visions of My People, sixty years of African American Art in Nashville. McBride’s career began at the age of 8 when he told his parents he wanted to become an artist.

click to download audioMcBride will have one piece of work from “Too Black Too Fast” which is a traveling art exhibition about African American jockeys and trainers.

click to download audioThe Michael McBride exhibit opens Friday, July 12th, at the Janice Mason Art Museum with an opening reception Friday from 4 until 6. The show will remain in place until August 23rd.
