Heat Advisory And Storms For Independence Day Forecast

Even as multiple rounds of thunderstorms are expected for Independence Day, dangerous heat and humidity will persist.

The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a Heat Advisory for Todd, Christian, Trigg, Calloway, and Marshall counties from Noon to 9:00 PM. Heat indices could top 108.

Forecasters say that if you must be outside you need to drink plenty of fluids, stay out of the sun, and wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing. You are also encouraged to check up on relatives and neighbors.

A round of thunderstorms is forecast this morning, with additional storms possible this afternoon, the final round is expected tonight. Some of these storms could be severe, with damaging winds the primary threat.
