Process Stalled for Pardue Park Project

Hopkinsville City Council will have to decide if a one-hundred thousand dollar grant is worth the time lost on the Pardue Park. Tuesday night, City Chief Financial Officer Melissa Clayton told City Council they had been communicating with the state and finally received an answer last month.

click to download audioMeanwhile, City Council voted to amend the bond sale ordinance for a potential economic development project, which Clayton says gives them options but does not commit them to the project.

click to download audioThe second reading of the amendment will be at the July 16th meeting. City Attorney Doug Willen says they may have the grant proposal at that meeting but details are still being ironed out.

In other business, City Council approved the second reading of the Shadowood Estates rezoning, the first readings of the new zoning codes to allow agricultural transition designations, and the municipal order adopting the new street naming policy.
