New Trigg Superintendent Outlines Immediate Goals

Rex Booth has one more week of downtime before he begins his duties as Trigg County superintendent of schools next Monday.

The Edmonson County native was selected to head the school district from an applicant pool of nearly a dozen.

He began his teaching career at Trigg County over a decade ago and said his familiarity with the school district and community was a main factor in his decision to seek the job.

click to download audioHe got a chance to tour the campus facilities which included the new multi-purpose sports building as well as the Career and Technical Education building, formerly known as the vocational building during his first stint at Trigg County over a decade ago.

click to download audioBooth realizes he takes over command of the school district about six weeks before the start of the new school year and said one of his first priorities is to get the best people hired to fill vacant teaching and administrative positions across the district.
