Officials with Christian County have plans for revealing the community’s first-ever Hometown Hero Banner.
Set for 10:30 AM June 21 at the TC Freeman Gate, Gate 4, on Fort Campbell Boulevard, the ceremony will take place in the parking lot of U.S. Patriot — honoring retired Colonel Bob Freeman.
The event is open to the public, and those still wishing to purchase a banner for a soldier or veteran can still do so online at hopkinsvilleky.us/heroes.
Banners are being placed on light poles all throughout the city and county from July 4 through Veteran’s Day. Each banner will include a photo of a local veteran, their name and branch of service.
