Douglas Mumma, 54, of Princeton

Douglas C. Mumma, a retired US Army veteran with tours at Desert Storm, Afghanistan, Haiti, and Iraq, passed away peacefully at his Princeton residence on May 26, 2024. Doug was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on February 24, 1970, to William and Andrea Mumma. Douglas was an accomplished Army engineer who dedicated his life to serving his country. He was of the Catholic faith.

Apart from his military career, Doug had a deep passion for the outdoors, woodworking, and building things. He found great joy in sharing his skills with others and helping those in need. He was most proud of his daughter Jordan Burgess and granddaughters Olivia and Aubree.

Doug is survived by his parents William and Andrea R. Mumma of Harrisburg, PA; daughter Jordan Burgess (Dustin) of Cadiz; brother Todd M. Mumma (Brea) of Harrisburg, PA; Uncle David Richards (Eileen) of Harrisburg, PA; Aunt Patricia Wilson (John) of Harrisburg, PA; as well as granddaughters Olivia and Aubree Burgess of Cadiz and his fur baby Rip.

Doug is preceded in death by his loving spouse Kathy Mumma.

Doug will be remembered for his dedication to duty, love for his family, and willingness to lend a helping hand to those around him. He leaves behind a legacy of service and kindness that will be cherished by all who knew him. May he rest in peace.

Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West on Monday, June 17, 2024, at 11:00 am.
