The Housing Authority of Hopkinsville has announced the retirement of Executive Director Vickie Smiley after 25 years of dedicated service.
Smiley started as an Administrative Assistant and worked her way up to Executive Director, overseeing the construction or rehabilitation of 711 units in 6 different sites with a total investment of over $96 million into the community.
During her tenure, Smiley served on several state and federal housing organizations to stay informed on changes with HUD. Her last day will be May 23.
Laura Faulkner, previously of Community and Development Services, has been hired as the new Executive Director. She started the position at the beginning of the month.
Faulkner brings 16 years of experience in community development, housing assistance programs, rental property management, and non-profit administration.
