State Police Release Name of Woman Found Dead in Princeton Home

Kentucky State Police have released the name of a woman who was found deceased after a fire was reported at a home in Caldwell County Thursday night.

According to spokesman Trooper Ridge Porter, Post 2 received a call from Caldwell County Dispatch requesting assistance with a death investigation shortly after 7:00 Thursday night.

He says a preliminary investigation revealed that 93-year old Dorothy Sparks, of Princeton, was found deceased inside her residence. He indicated an autopsy is pending.

Sparks is the wife of the former longtime board chairman of Farmers Bank William “Bill” Sparks.

As previously reported by WPKY’s News Edge, Princeton firefighters were sent to the 11000 block of South Jefferson Street/KY 293 around 7:00 for a house fire. Upon arrival, they requested Sheriff Don Weedman to come to the scene, who called Kentucky State Police to join the investigation.

The investigation is ongoing by the Kentucky State Police.
