School Board Hears Construction Update, Board Member Resigns

Work continues on the new Christian County High School, with the School Board approving over $2 million in payments for the month of March. Thursday night, Alliance Corporation Project Manager Kevin Hitchel told the School Board members they are close to having the foundation for 100 percent of the building.

click to download audioThe Board of Education voted to approve several change orders related to the project which will save the district money, as well as payments for March totaling $2,559,842.12 for Alliance and contractors and $32,168.77 for Hafer Architects.

In addition, the School Board approved bidding out new lockers and benches for Hopkinsville Middle School and Student Accident Insurance, as well as the purchase of Parent Square. Superintendent Chris Bentzel says the new communication platform will save the district money in the long run.
