A Hopkinsville man was charged after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend on Summit Street Saturday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say they were called for a disturbance involving 35-year-old Leonard Oglesby and found he hit his girlfriend in the head and strangled her with his arm.
When police arrived, he reportedly fled out the back door before being arrested and charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police, first-degree strangulation, and fourth-degree assault dating violence.
