A Christian County woman who was a pioneer in the tag sale business is being remembered for her love of community and the things that make that community special.
Mrs. Ouida Foster passed away Monday at Christian Health Center at the age of 96. She will be remembered for her love of life, friends and family, and the community she was a part of.
Mrs. Ouida was a pioneer in tag sales in the Pennyrile Region. She owned and operated Tag Sales by Ouida for over fifty years. She helped make tag sales an attractive option for families that were downsizing or dispersing of a loved ones personal property.
Mrs. Ouida was a founding member of the Pennyrile Doll Club, which meets monthly at Four Seasons in Christian County. The members of the doll club celebrated the history and heritage of collectible dolls and work to pass along those traditions and love of treasured dolls to the next generation.
And Mrs. Foster was an active member of Hopkinsville Cumberland Presbytarian Church on Faircourt Street. She was the oldest member of the church and was frequently in attendance to share her love and wisdom with fellow church members.
Mrs. Ouida is survived by her son Mike and Marilyn Foster of Hopkinsville, KY; her daughter Pat and Steven Sunderland of Hopkinsville, KY; her sisters: Peggy (Don) Noel of Hopkinsville, KY and Marilyn Fly of Brentwood, TN. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
