Grand Jury Issues Several Indictments Including Charges of Theft, Assault, And Robbery

The Christian County Grand Jury returned numerous indictments Friday including on theft charges of theft, assault and robbery.

Zyair Clack, of Hopkinsville, was indicted on charges of second-degree assault, kidnapping and first-degree robbery. The charges are from October 24 when, according to the indictment, Clack injured an individual, unlawfully restrained the victim and then threatened to use physical force while armed with a deadly weapon and committing a theft. Clack was arrested by Madisonville Police in January after a vehicle and foot pursuit. An investigation determined he was a convicted felon and was wanted in Christian County by the Kentucky Parole Board on robbery, kidnapping and assault charges.

A true bill was returned on Bishop Howard, the city at large, on two counts of theft of mail matter and 100 counts of theft of motor vehicle registration plates. On January 20, Howard is accused of stealing mail on two separate occasions belonging to the Christian County Clerk’s Office from their drop box on South Main Street. Additionally, Howard allegedly stole two boxes of motor vehicle registration plates, with each box containing 50 plates, from the County Clerk’s drop box.

Daniel Huff, of Clarksville, Tennessee, was indicted on theft by unlawful taking over $10,000 – auto and third-degree burglary. Huff is accused of unlawfully entering the property of L&M Contracting between November 23, 2022, and November 26, 2022, and taking three trucks belonging to the company, worth more than $10,000.

The grand jury indicted Amber Martin, of Madisonville, Tennessee, on charges of receiving stolen property $10,000 or more and possession of drug paraphernalia. Martin was arrested in December after Hopkinsville Police made a traffic stop following an alert by the city’s cameras of a stolen vehicle. Martin reportedly admitted to police she took the vehicle and did not return it when the owner asked for it.

A true bill was returned on Kathy Jackson, of Hopkinsville, on charges of theft by unlawful taking over $1,000 after she allegedly took $1,055 from the Circle K on April 9th.
