Valerie “Sweet Val” Phillips, age 65, of Hopkinsville, walked through the gates of Heaven to be with her Heavenly Father, on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at Signature of Hartford in Hartford, KY. Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home at 11:00 AM with burial to follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Princeton, KY. Visitation will be at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle arrangements.
Mrs. Phillips was born May 13, 1958, in Princeton, KY, the daughter of the late Roland D. and Shirley Virginia Pollard Phillips. She worked in a nursing home in Princeton and worked as a bookkeeper in Hopkinsville. Valerie was an active member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Rev. Roland “Ron” Phillips Jr.
Survivors include her sister, Stephanie Hale (Tim) of Hopkinsville, KY; her nephew, Aaron Hale, of Hopkinsville, KY; and her nieces, Summer Deaton of Hopkinsville, KY, and Rachel Phillips of Indianapolis, IN
