In the strong spirit of Black History Month, officials from the Hopkinsville-Christian County Human Rights Commission have major plans for cultural diversity.

Plans that are taking place this week.

At 6:30 PM Thursday, Black History Trivia Night is being hosted by Davo’s. For adults, HRC Commissioner Yasamin Ausenbaugh said it should be a terrific opportunity to learn and have fun.

Pivot to 9 AM Saturday, and HRC’s efforts continue with the 31st Annual Black History Trivia Bowl at Hopkinsville Community College.

Facing off in a double-elimination tournament, Jada Poindexter, HRC’s executive assistant, knows first-hand how challenging — and competitive — this can be, and HRC Director Raychel Farmer added that families and friends should come in support.

Awards will be doled out to winning squads both Thursday and Saturday.

Farmer assured HRC’s efforts for outreach, inclusion, and camaraderie continue into April, which is Women’s History Month.
