Man Credited With Saving Woman From Burning Home

A home on Hope Street in Hopkinsville was badly damaged in a fire Monday night.

Hopkinsville Fire Department Spokesman Captain Payton Rogers says a fire started in a back room and quickly filled the rest of the home with smoke.

A man inside the home was able to get his handicapped mother out before firefighters arrived.

Rogers says no one will be able to stay in the home due to the damage and the American Red Cross was contacted to assist the man and woman.

The home is located at 705 Hope Street. The cause of the fire has not been determined.
