George Thomas Berry, Jr., 94, of Hopkinsville, died at 10:48 a.m., Sunday, February 4, 2024, at his home in Hopkinsville.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Second Baptist Church in Hopkinsville, Kentucky with Rev. David Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., Wednesday at Second Baptist Church. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A native of Christian County, he was born on May 11, 1929, the son of the late George Thomas Berry, Sr. and Ethel Dougherty Berry. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Worsham Berry in 1994 and his second wife, Dorothy Combs Berry in 2023.
He was an active member of Second Baptist Church. He worked as an electrician with Pennyrile Rural Electric for 29 years and Hopkinsville Electric Service for 20 years.
Survivors include his daughter: Dolores Berry (Michael) Johnson of Greenbrier, TN; his bonus son, Gary Wayne (Nancy) Combs of Shalimar, FL; his bonus daughters, Beverly (Dale) Taylor of Hopkinsville, KY and Connie Tawoda of Hopkinsville, KY; his grandchildren, Kasey Lazenby, Mari Taylor, Sherry (Jeff) Davis, Melissa (James) Cramer, Aaron (Katie) Tawoda and Tammy (Brad) Fisher. Ten great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
