Rev. Lydell Mack, 66, of Hopkinsville

Rev. Lydell Mack, age 66 of Hopkinsville, passed away on Friday, January 26th at Christian Heights Nursing and Rehab in Pembroke of natural causes.

He was born September 11, 1957, in Hopkinsville, Kentucky the son of the late Dan A. and Lydia B. Taylor Mack.

He was a member of Foston Chapel Baptist Church in Hopkinsville. Lydell loved reading, studying, and teaching the Word of God. In his leisure time, he enjoyed gardening, fishing, working on and fixing electronics and cars.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jontae R. Mack; a brother, Dan Mack, Sr. and two sisters, Eva Pettigrew and Stella Mack White. He is survived by three sons, Derrick D. Mack, and James B. Lantrip both of Hopkinsville, and Eric S. Edwards (Lydia) of Clarksville, Tennessee; a daughter, Sontae R. Mack of Hopkinsville; a sister, Georgia Greenwell (Robert) of Sturgis, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Xavier “X-man” Mack, DaVaun “Mr. Vaunoli” Joseph, De’Sherica “Deda Peda Wheat Straw” Edwards and D’Travion “Tra C-bone” Edwards and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a host of nieces and nephews.

There will be a graveside service on Saturday, February 3rd at 3:00 at the Cave Springs Cemetery in Hopkinsville with Ministers Robert Greenwell and James Edwards, Jr. officiating.
