Man Charged With Burglary After Fleeing From Police

A Hopkinsville man was charged after he allegedly fled from law enforcement after a report of a burglary on Jan Drive Monday night.

Hopkinsville Police say  45-year-old Kenneth Thornton showed up at his ex-girlfriend’s house and was punching the front door then questioned her about who she was there with after entering the home.

He reportedly smashed a modem in the driveway before leaving the residence in a vehicle, When he was located by police on East 9th Street, He failed to stop even speeding up before coming to a stop back on Jan Drive.

He was arrested and charged with second-degree fleeing or evading police, no registration plates, resisting arrest, and second-degree burglary.
