In 2019, officials with Planters Bank and Jennie Stuart Health joined forces to nab the naming rights of Hopkinsville’s newest venue in the Sportsplex.

Tuesday afternoon, those same officials announced the naming partnership will continue for the next five years — following the signature of another renewal.

Within its first four months of opening, the facility welcomed more than 45,000 visitors — visitors seeking a place for sports tournaments, full leagues, events and parties.

Sportsplex branding includes signage at the facility entrance, designated highway locations and several locations within the venue, and also includes the digital/online footprint of the business.

Back in 2019, the City of Hopkinsville produced and distributed an RFP for the naming-rights contract, and while several area businesses expressed interest, it was this co-bid that originally brought forth the most lucrative offer.

At the time, Planters Bank CEO Elizabeth McCoy called it an exciting moment to partner with Jennie Stuart Health, in order to “provide opportunities to assist the local community in developing the skills and strategies needed for people to live healthy, active lifestyles.

Jennie Stuart Health CEO Eric Lee also remarked then it was a privilege to partner with a community icon like Planters Bank, in order to “promote, support and accommodate aspirational athletics and health lifestyles for youth and families of western Kentucky.”
