Two Arrested On Gun Charges After Hopkinsville Traffic Stop

A traffic stop on Park Avenue in Hopkinsville led to gun charges for two men Thursday morning.

Hopkinsville Police say they stopped 20-year-old Christopher Jones of Hopkinsville for his license plate not being illuminated and failure to use a turn signal and during the stop, officers could reportedly smell the odor of marijuana in the vehicle.

Jones and his passenger 20-year-old Devonni Radford of Elk Grove, California, were reportedly asked to step out of the vehicle and after a search, a gun was located under a seat.

They were both arrested and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Jones was also cited for rear license plate not being illuminated and failure to or improper signal.
