An investigation into shoplifting on West 7th Street led to a stolen gun being recovered Wednesday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Police say 19-year-old Jordan Houchens and 18-year-old Kameron Serrano were stopped after law enforcement watched them enter and exit stores on West 7th Street and then hide in the backyard of a home on North Fowler Avenue.
They were reportedly found to have a handgun that had been reported stolen, alcohol, and items that had been shoplifted.
They were both charged with shoplifting with Houchens being arrested and also being charged with receiving stolen property (firearm).
