A Hopkinsville man was arrested in Lyon County Friday afternoon for burglary, fleeing from police, and other charges.

Sheriff Brent White says law enforcement responded to a suspicious person complaint from a neighbor who saw a man coming out from behind a residence on KY 295 near the Crittenden County line around 3 pm. The neighbor told authorities that when he approached the man, later identified as 46-year old Jason Williams, he ran.

After a suspicious vehicle was located at the home, Sheriff White said he spotted Williams walking into a wooded area south of the scene. When he approached Williams, he reportedly ran into a field area where he was taken into custody without incident.

Williams was charged with burglarizing a garage, fleeing from police on foot, and four counts of criminal trespassing. He was lodged in the Crittenden County Jail.

Sheriff White additionally stated that Williams had been released on bond from Christian Circuit Court, where he was facing both felony and misdemeanor charges.

The Eddyville Police Department assisted the sheriff’s office at the scene.
