Ronald Lynn “Ron” Jones, 88, of Cadiz, formerly of Madisonville, passed away Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Ridgewood Terrace Nursing Home in Madisonville.
He was born July 29, 1935 in Madisonville, to the late Hazel Thomas Jones and Edna Earle Robinson Jones. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Alice Gayle McCracken Jones.
Ron worked as a coal miner at Island Creek Coal Company where he retired. He was a member of Ponderosa Baptist Church where he was also a member of Campers on Missions.
He is survived by his four daughters, Ronda (Mark) Jones of Palatine, IL, Lynn (Daniel) Crews of Henderson, KY, Connie (Allen) Wilkerson of Madisonville, and Donna (David) Faulk of Cadiz; three sons, Daryl (Pam) Jones of Dawson Springs, KY, Kevin (Karin) Jones of Virginia Beach, VA, and Michael (Karen) Faulk of Panama City Beach, FL; brother, Charles H. Jones of Michigan; along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Norman Cotton officiating. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Monday, December 18, 2023, and from 9:00 AM until the service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
