Funeral services for 83-year-old Ronnie Houchens, of Hopkinsville, will be 1 PM Tuesday, December 5, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Green Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 4-7 PM Monday, December 4.
Survivors include:
His wife of 58 years, Cassandra Simpson Houchens, of Hopkinsville;
His daughters, Ellen Skinner (Doug), of Hopkinsville, Rhonda Howell (Jerry Cole), of Hopkinsville, Becky Spann (Bill), of Hopkinsville;
His son, Jeff Houchens (Anna), of Hopkinsville;
His sisters, Ilene Long, of Christian County, Elaine Perry (Raymond), of Hopkinsville, Janice Mayes, of Hopkinsville, Linda Curtis (Bill), of Hopkinsville, Pam Dill, of Hopkinsville, and Kathy Marsh, of Hopkinsville;
Two grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Brother Jeremy Hayes is officiating.
He died Thursday, November 30, 2023, at his home of natural causes.
He was born May 15, 1940, in Hopkinsville, the son of the late William Carl Houchens and Kathryn Page Jones.
He worked for 28 years as a truck driver for Southern States. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church. He was a farmer and loved his family and quail hunting with his son Bill.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Ronald Shann Houchens; his brothers, Donnie Houchens, Clay Houchens, and Roy Houchens.
