Man Charged With Trafficking Several Drugs In Hopkinsville

A Hopkinsville man was charged with trafficking several different drugs after a traffic stop on Linda Court Thursday afternoon.

Hopkinsville Police say they stopped 41-year-old Demario Sanders for speeding near the intersection of East 4th Street and during the stop, he reportedly attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended.

Police say after a search of his vehicle meth, heroin, Fentanyl, synthetic drugs, and marijuana were found along with a handgun.

Sanders reportedly tossed bags of marijuana while fleeing from law enforcement and was found to have bags of a mixture of heroin and Fentanyl in his mouth after a body scan at the jail.

Police say on November 11th they were able to get a search warrant for a home on Howell Street that is connected to Sanders and located cocaine, meth, marijuana, and over a hundred fentanyl pills along with a large amount of money and drug paraphernalia.

He is charged with trafficking meth, speeding, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, tampering with physical evidence, trafficking heroin, first-degree promoting contraband, second-degree fleeing or evading police, trafficking cocaine, instructional permit violations, trafficking synthetic drugs, resisting arrest, two counts of trafficking marijuana, and two counts of trafficking fentanyl.
