JMAM’s Festival Of Trees Opens Saturday

A tradition that has become a mainstay over the last 25 years seeks to get area residents into the holiday spirit in downtown Cadiz.

The Janice Mason Art Museum will again host its Festival of Trees throughout December with an opening reception scheduled Saturday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Museum Executive Director Leida Tackett told Your News Edge they are expecting up to 40 trees to be on display this year.

Tackett shared details about a few of the trees you will see during the event.

One tree will feature around 300 handmade ornaments from children, according to Trigg County Schools’ Early Childhood Outreach Director Molly Oliver.

While looking at the trees on Saturday afternoon, children can head to the museum’s basement for a holiday craft.

Tackett shared that the Janice Mason Art Museum has several exhibits booked for 2024 and 2025.
