Hopkinsville Man Indicted On Sodomy, Incest Charges Against Minor

The Christian County Grand Jury returned eight indictments Friday.

Twenty-year-old Joseph Burkholder, of Hopkinsville, was indicted on charges of first-degree sodomy (victim under 12), incest (victim under 12/or serious physical injury), and first-degree unlawful transaction with a minor (illegal sexual act with someone under 16 years old). The indictment said that Burkholder engaged in “deviant sexual intercourse” with a minor under 12, performed sexual activities with his brother, and knowingly “induced, assisted, or caused a minor to engage in illegal sexual activity.”

His alleged crimes occurred between March 26, 2021, and March 26, 2023.

Meanwhile, 22-year-old Emmanuel Lopez, of Hopkinsville, was indicted on multiple charges of first and fourth-degree assault, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol (aggravating circumstances), and additional motor vehicle charges.
Lopez’s charges stem from an August 15th crash on East 12th Street in Hopkinsville. Police said he hit a parked SUV pushing it into four people on the side of the road. Lopez and one of the victims were flown to a Nashville hospital following the incident, three others were treated at the scene.

Cadiz resident, 35-year-old Angel Harris, was indicted on two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment and possession of drug paraphernalia. Her charges came after Christian County Sheriff’s deputies said she was found to have slurred speech and her eyes were dilated when they arrived at a home on Pyle Lane. After a search of her room, which she allegedly shared with her two nieces ages one and three, a plastic bag was found lying on an air mattress near their toys, and a cut straw, both contained meth residue.

Shedrick Moore, 41, of Hopkinsville, was indicted on a first-degree wanton endangerment charge. Hopkinsville Police reported that on September 4th, Moore got into an argument with the mother of his child. He then followed her home and tried to hit a person with his car during the argument.

Additionally, 24-year-old Jacobie Penman, of Hopkinsville, was indicted on charges of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, receiving stolen property (firearm), and tampering with physical evidence.

Kyle McCann, 27, of Hopkinsville, was indicted on charges of first-degree burglary and two counts of third-degree criminal mischief.
Jamarvis Allen, 31, of Oak Grove, was indicted on charges of second-degree robbery and tampering with physical evidence.

And 45-year-old Shameeka Peters, of Nashville, Tennessee, was indicted on a first-degree complicity to robbery charge.
