GOOD NEWS: Badgett Teaming Up With Hopkinsville Boys & Girls Club

Beginning November 28, the Boys & Girls Club of Hopkinsville-Christian County will charge into #GivingTuesday — behind the support of longtime Club anchor Sue Badgett, of Baird.

Using an online campaign to make a “World of Difference” in the lives of local children, the first $10,000 in donations will come with a guaranteed match in donations from Badgett.

Boys & Girls Club Executive Director Terrence Davis noted that Badgett’s gift will provide Hopkinsville with “another opportunity” to make a meaningful impact on served youth. And, “while the world is complicated, helping children is simple.”

Last year, the Hopkinsville organization helped more than 500 students with affordable, high-impact afterschool programs — focusing on healthy meals, tutoring and mentoring.

Now in operation for more than 17 years, this peer-to-peer fundraising effort will run from November 28 until December 3. Donations can be made by calling the Club, dropping off a donation, or donating online by visiting go.rallyup.com/bgchccworldofdifference.
