Community Responds To Dinner Theater Fundraiser At The Way

Three sold out performances reassured The Way Christian Youth Center in Cadiz of the support behind the fundraising efforts for a new educational wing.

The Way director Carl Heckman says performances Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights were sold out. He said 60 tickets were sold for each of the performances, with 170 supporters attending in addition to the cast, crew, technical support staff, servers, and other volunteers. Heckman says net revenue for the dinner theater amounted to $2,500, which included donations.

The dinner theater was directed by Erika Steip, with Martha Davis in charge of the ticket sales and dining experience, Marsha Petro charged with customer service, Matt Shown and Shawn Davis in charge of technical support, and Portia Aldridge from Southern Kentucky Independent Theater providing technical assistance. Hancock’s Neighborhood Market catered the dinner and Cadiz Ace Hardware provided support.

The money raised will be used toward the construction of a new educational wing at The Way that is located on Lafayette Street in Cadiz across from Trigg County Middle School.
